ProPublica Guild — which represents reporters, editors, designers and business and communications staff working for the award-winning nonprofit — brought their fight for their first contract to the annual IRE Gala at Gotham Hall on Monday. They are demanding a contract that includes industry-standard “just cause” job security, a fair and transparent disciplinary process, union steward representation when requested, and guardrails ensuring artificial intelligence does not replace journalists. Guild members passed out fliers and “fair contract now” buttons to those attending and launched a new Action Network petition.
