The latest issue of Local 802’s magazine Allegro is a must-read for musicians and other union members. The lead story by President Adam Krauthamer “Hope is in the Air” is about the vision of how NYC will slowly re-open to live music. (The New York Times also published a related story: “Performing Arts Make a Cautious Return to NYC.”) We also promoted the exclusive meeting that Senator Chuck Schumer hosted this week with Local 802 members. Allegro also featured a story on musician and union member Jon Spurney, who recently became a two-time Jeopardy champion. Union member David Freeman contributed a story on how music educators must be prioritized as we emerge from the pandemic. And we featured the new program by the New York Library for the Performing Arts that lends “tech kits” to musicians.
