Brooklyn Borough Hall: Free Mortgage Assistance Event

By Brooklyn Borough President

Many homeowners struggle to keep up with mortgage payments, often for reasons beyond their control. In an effort to help out Brooklyn homeowners with the mortgage payment process, my office is partnering up with organizations such as HOPE NOW, Brooklyn Neighborhood Services, NHS Brooklyn, and the Center for New York City Neighborhoods for a free mortgage assistance event at Brooklyn Borough Hall, on Thursday, July 11th from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

You will have an chance to meet with your mortgage servicers face-to-face, learn about loan modifications, forbearances, short sales and deeds-in-lieu, discover the Property Tax and Interest Deferral Program, and even receive free counseling from local, HUD-approved housing counseling agencies. Be sure to check out our website for more information regarding the event, as well as a comprehensive list of items you should bring if you plan on attending.

I hope to see you there!

Eric
